> I am pleased to announce that the Air Force ROTC Summer Technical Recruiting Internship Program is offering a 10-week, paid summer internship to students at Virginia Tech. Students selected for this opportunity will begin work in late May as interns at one of several Air Force Science and Engineering centers including *Tyndall AFB (near Panama City, FL), *Hanscom AFB (near Boston, MA), Wright-Patterson AFB (near Dayton, OH), and Kirtland AFB (near Albuquerque, NM). Interns will earn approximately $4,500 in salary. In addition to their salary, they will be provided transportation between their residence and the internship site and per diem and lodging costs for the duration of the internship. Following completion of the internship, selected program participants may be offered a follow-on Air Force ROTC scholarship. Participating interns are not obligated to accept this scholarship if offered or to join Air Force ROTC.
> Students submitted for the internship will be notified at the end of January of the results of a national selection board.
> Applicants must meet the following criteria:
> * Be a Sophomore with a2.50+ cumulative GPA
> * Currently majoring in Electrical, Computer or Environmental Engineering
> * Have completed at least 60 semester hours at time of internship
> * Be able to graduate within two or three years of internship
> * Be a U.S. citizen at time of internship, not already under contract with any branch of the US Military, and under age 31 on 31 December of graduation year
> * Meet Air Force commissioning standards and complete a medical questionnaire
> To be considered for this internship, a qualified student must be nominated by the Dean of the College of Engineering with a nomination letter. All nomination letters should be sent to the Virginia Tech Air Force ROTC Detachment Commander, Colonel Daniel Lentz, by 9 December:
